Misunderstandings everywhere

This was a topic I wanted to cover for a long time but I now is the time(mostly because I don’t have any other ideas). Ok so what are misunderstandings, “A failure to understand something correctly”. Yes exactly as it sounds, I know this topic is quite boring but still if you go in depth then you will find it interesting.

Let’s first take a look at misunderstandings in anime and manga.

Misunderstandings in anime and manga

Misunderstandings in anime can be quite often. Uptil now every single anime or manga I’ve ever seen has some kinda misinterpretations or misunderstandings in it. They are really common in romance or drama anime just to spice things up. Misunderstandings are not necessarily a bad thing, they make the particular story even interesting but sometimes it’s just too much, if the misundestanding were for a few episodes it’s fine but for the whole anime then it’s a problem.

Misunderstandings are used very often, particularly in romance anime, to create very basic and predictable drama between two characters that will only get cleared up later anyways. It mostly depends on the show. One of the most common misunderstandings are when the main protagonists are called as a couple even when they’re not or when they’re not yet.

Shoujo mangas are also a great example for misunderstandings, you’re in a love triangle and all you can think is how to win her/him over, which eventually causes sonfusion between all the characters. The character who’s being crushed on misundertands the whole situation and from the readers definetely get into the story more.

Although misunderstandings can be a little frustrating but that’s not the case every time sometimes it also can be the very factor that draws you into the story. For example Pashiri na Boku to Koisuru Banchou-san is a manga that’s based on a misunderstanding between the main characters. Unoki, a boy who’s been bullied since elementary school, ends up becoming an exclusive errand boy of the top delinquent of his school, Toramaru, who told him “Be mine” right after entering high school. But the truth is that Toramaru meant it as a confession of love!!

Even though the whole manga is based on misunderstandings it’s still fun to read. The comedy that is created because of the misunderstandings are just so exciting to read. The manga always brings new and great things every chapter.

Kimi no todoke is also based on misunderstandings but I haven’t raed it yet so I can’t say for sure.

Here’s just a sneak peak into basic misunderstanding.

Misunderstandings can be a great trope in animes and mangas but at the same time it can lso be sometimes frustrating as you’re the one in the third-person role reading it.

Misunderstandings in real life

While anime and manga has it’s own props with misunderstandings, I don’t think that’s the case with real life. Misunderstandings in real life has no interesting factor in it mostly because the person it’s happening to is ourself and we hate ourselves getting caught up in drama(or that’s just me).

The most biggest things causing misunderstandings and confusions are perceptions.

I think that misunderstandings are the most funniest things unless it’s overdone.

Misunderstandings can also be used as strongest weapon(not physically), since misunderstandings work on people’s perception it can also work as a weapon. confident people are perspective and have no need to double check with other’s perspective. When you are confident enough you can use your own perspective to create the world’s most biggest misunderstanding.

I seriously have no idea what I’m saying.

Anyway that’s all I have for today.

Thank you for reading.

  1. Those romantic misunderstandings can be a good time. But if the protagonist is way too dense, or the characters feel like they’re acting unnaturally just to draw the misunderstanding out beyond a season, I’m out. It’s too much; I won’t follow the show that long partly out of fear that there will never be a resolution.

Misunderstandings in real life are way more painful, though.

    • I totally agree with you. Sometimes it’s really fun to read when the misunderstanding between characters creates good humor but sometimes it’s just too much. I just get really frustrated from reading it.
You’re right Misunderstandings in real life are way more painful, sometimes you get hurt without knowing.

  2. This is really interesting don’t you say otherwise! I really enjoyed reading it, especially because it’s so common of an argument that nobody thinks about it seriously. I also think real life drama is difficult to handle, but fantasy is quite fun. 😆
